North Dry Rocks

North Dry Rocks - AKA Minnow Caves

Coral Reef Diving in Key Largo with Sail Fish Scuba
North Dry Rocks Reef is a small patch reef site just North of the Key Largo Dry Rocks Reef, which is home to the famous Christ of the Abyss statue.

North Dry Rocks Reef Dive Site Description

North Dry Rocks Reef is also known as Minnow Caves. It got this nickname Minnow Caves due to the cavernous coral cave at the one end of the patch reef. Hurricane Irma in September 2017 was so powerful creating over 30 foot wave heights in the area, the little cavernous cave collapsed.

This reef has a max depth when heading North East of the patch site of 32 feet. The top of the reef has a shallowest part less than 11 feet from tops of sea fans to the surface of the ocean. These depth ranges make this one of the best sites in the Florida Keys for both snorkeling and scuba diving.

North Dry Rocks Reef Additional Information

Expect to see many colorful soft coral as well as plenty of schools of colorful fish.
