Become a better, more aware diver on Florida’s unique, historic reefs. Learn the history and the laws relating to marine archaeology.

Heritage Awareness Diver Specialty Course

Satisfy your inner Indiana Jones by learning to appreciate the unique heritage of historical shipwrecks on Florida’s barrier reefs. The course focuses on the archaeological value of artifacts left in place, not scavenged from the wreck sites. The course also includes two wreck-site dives, where artifacts are identified.

We are the only shop in the Keys that offers this course!

Learn about the history and archeology of Florida’s National Marine Sanctuary and how everyone can protect and preserve this wonderful reef system. Discover the true value of submerged cultural resources and dive two historic wrecks sites to locate artifacts that helped identify the ships that sank. Course can be completed on one day: morning classroom and afternoon dives.
