Barracuda Alley

Barracuda Alley

Coral Reef Diving in Key Largo with Sail Fish Scuba
If you want to get your heart pumping being surrounded by more great barracuda than you could possibly count, then request this dive/snorkel site when booking your next tour with us. Request to pair this site with Banana Reef & you will have a 2 location match you’ll talk about and show your disc of the days photos from for years to come! Max depth for this dive is only 22 feet deep, and right under the boat and around the base of the mooring is a sea-grass bed with a max depth of only about 10 feet and this is where these huge fish love to hang out everyday of the year!

Barracuda Alley Dive Site Description

Great Barracuda attack their pray in poor visibility, or will tend to only attack a human if speared, good thing it is illegal to spearfish anywhere near this dive site! These fish are a threat to man if you eat them due to fish poisoning, so no catching them for any reason.

These are fierce predators that will grow to lengths of (2m) SIX FEET long, and we have them this large right here at this site to swim right beside! Jen Kerr’s favorite she has named “Grandpa” and he pushes close to 6 foot long.

Barracuda Alley Additional Information

Max depth if the guide takes you to the far SE portions of this reef, you will reach 27 feet deep. This site is home to massive boulders of mixed corals with sandy edges which makes a great place for large conch to hang out, and huge clusters of spiny lobster. If you swim slowly, you will find urchins, anemones, and possibly a West Indian sea egg or 2.
