Warm Water Confidence

Train where diving is meant to be enjoyed.

There’s a reason divers from around the world come to Key Largo.

Warm, clear water and incredible marine life. It’s the perfect training environment to take on a course that challenges you—without adding unnecessary stress. Ask any diver—Rescue Diver is the one they remember.

This is where everything clicks. Through hands-on scenarios and real-world problem solving, you’ll be challenged in ways that change how you see diving. You’ll laugh, you’ll be challenged, and you’ll come out the other side more capable than you thought possible.

It’s not just about helping others—it’s about becoming more aware, more confident, and more in control of every dive you make.

And there’s no better place to experience it than the beautiful waters of Key Largo.

What are Customers Saying?

"Our experience with Sailfish Scuba was above and beyond what I would expect from a dive shop, start to finish. The vibes were excellent. When we called, I was so refreshed to find a sweet couple running the shop, Tarek and Michaela, who had a fantastic chill vibe and took extra time to talk to us ahead of time about the experience.

Service-oriented, made extra efforts to make the experience easy and pleasurable - had exceptionally good gear that actually fit, took time to find the right mask or fin. Helped with every aspect of the experience. Dave was so kind in all of his help along the way - Carried all the gear, cared for the gear, assisted us to get out of the boat and back into the boat. When we had a tougher dive, they took extra care to make sure we were ok and help us recover. We felt very safe with Tarek, who is insanely experienced and a fascinating guy. He had music and great stories and brought together a really outstanding crew. Kate, the captain, made us feel safe and cared for.

Tarek suggested we use our dives to get our Advanced Open Water certification, along with NITROX certification. We were so happy to find them, and will dive with them again if we’re in the area! Thanks, y’all!"

    PADI Rescue Diver Course FAQs

Please reach us at info@sailfishscuba.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

#1 Dive with confidence - not luck

Rescue Diver is where you take control of your diving instead of relying on perfect conditions. You’ll learn how to recognize potential problems early, stay calm under pressure, and respond effectively when something doesn’t go as planned.

Through hands-on training and real scenarios, you’ll build the kind of confidence that only comes from doing—not just learning. By the end of the course, you won’t just feel more comfortable underwater—you’ll feel capable, prepared, and in control on every dive.

#2 Skills that make a real difference underwater
This is where your diving truly levels up. Rescue Diver focuses on practical, real-world skills you’ll use on every dive—like improving your awareness, managing stress, assisting other divers, and handling unexpected situations.

You won’t just talk about what to do—you’ll practice it, refine it, and apply it until it becomes second nature. The result is a diver who’s not only more skilled, but more efficient, more aware, and far more confident in the water.

#3 Become the diver everyone feels safer with
There’s a noticeable difference in Rescue Divers. They’re the ones who stay calm, think clearly, and step up when needed. Through this course, you’ll learn how to look out for others, offer assistance, and manage situations without panic.

That confidence doesn’t just help others—it changes how you see yourself as a diver. Whether you’re diving with friends, family, or new buddies, you’ll be the person others naturally trust to have their back.

#4 Discover what you're capable of
Rescue Diver is designed to challenge you—and that’s exactly why it’s so rewarding. You’ll step outside your comfort zone, face new situations, and build confidence through experience.

It’s not about being perfect—it’s about growing. With guidance from experienced instructors in a supportive environment, you’ll develop skills, resilience, and awareness that carry over into every dive you make.

By the end, you won’t just be a better diver—you’ll be more confident in your abilities both in and out of the water.

That’s completely normal—and exactly why this course exists. You’re not expected to be perfect. We teach you step-by-step in a controlled, supportive environment so you can build confidence as you go. By the end, what once felt intimidating becomes second nature.

Actually, it’s the opposite. Rescue Diver makes diving more enjoyable because you feel more confident, aware, and in control. Most divers say it’s the course that made them fall in love with diving all over again.

It can be active at times, but it’s designed for recreational divers—not athletes. As long as you’re in reasonable health and comfortable in the water, you’ll be able to complete the course. We also pace everything so you’re never overwhelmed.

Scuba diving requires a certain level of health and fitness. All students must fill out the Diver Medical Questionnaire.  If you have chronic medical conditions, are on prescription medications, or have recently had surgery, you might need written clearance from a physician before diving.  You can find the Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire linked at the bottom of our Sail Fish Scuba Policy Page.

After completing your PADI Rescue Diver Course, you can go pro with Divemaster, earn your Master Scuba Diver rating, or expand your skills with specialty courses like Nitrox, Deep, and Wreck Diving.

Consider these courses as your next steps:

    • Consider enrolling in the PADI Enriched Air Diver course! Enriched Air (also known as Nitrox or EANx) has more oxygen and less nitrogen than regular air, meaning you can enjoy longer dives and have a shorter surface intervals. It’s no surprise the PADI Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular specialty!
    • Master Scuba Diver is about taking your diving to the highest level. It isn't just about collecting certifications, it’s about mastering your skills, expanding your experience, and standing out as one of the most capable recreational divers in the water. It’s the ultimate path for divers who want more confidence, more adventure, and more from every dive.
