EMAIL Your questions

Key Largo scuba diving and snorkeling tours questions and answers here.

How often do guests get seasick?

Even when ocean conditions are flat, you may still be susceptible to seasickness. We are not doctors here, but typically, some divers take non-drowsy anti-motion-sickness meds before their dive tour.

Is tipping the dive guide/boat crew customary?

Yes, Key Largo scuba guides and boat crews on snorkeling tours are in a service-based industry, and our team works diligently to ensure all guests are safe, happy, and totally enjoying their experience. While the amount you tip is up to you, a 20-30% of the tour cost you paid is customary.

What should I bring on the boat?

Please bring only the essentials aboard, as space on the boat may be limited. We recommend reef-safe sun protection. There are dry storage areas to keep your personal items dry.  If you’re bringing your own dive equipment, we recommend a mesh gear bag. We have freshwater rinse buckets for your cameras.

How long is the boat ride?

Key Largo scuba diving tours take an average of 30-40 minutes to get from our boat dock out to the dive sites. Unlike volcanic islands, which have steep walls not far from shore, the Florida Keys sits on a shelf system which remains quite shallow until you've traveled several miles offshore. On our snorkeling tours and dive tours, our Key Largo scuba guides will advise you when we are about 10 minutes from the site, so you have time to get geared up to maximize your time in the water!

What level of service do guests receive?

We pride ourselves on offering the highest level of Key Largo scuba diving and snorkeling tours customer service in the Florida Keys. All guests are guided 7:1 ratio (maximum), by our Key Largo scuba guides, and free photos of those tours are provided. Overnight gear lockers provided for guests doing more than 1 half day diving.

Are meals provided on surface intervals?

No

No, since Key Largo scuba diving and snorkeling tours are done at sites nearly all under 40 feet in the Florida Keys, due to our shallow reef system, our surface intervals are just long enough to allow our Key Largo scuba guides to swap gear for everyone and move the boat to the next site. Generally, this is between 10 to 15 minutes. We do provide guests with cold drinking water, packaged candy and cookies in the cooler on our boat. There is an hour at the boat dock between AM and PM tours.

How do we get the FREE photos?

2 Places on this website!

You can find your free underwater photos on our Home Page by scrolling to the "FREE Photos" box, or in the drop-down menu under "Guest Free Photos"—plus, the Flickr app makes viewing and sharing even easier.

What is Your Cancellation Policy?

Cancellations made 48 hours in advance will receive a full refund of the $25 deposit. Late cancellations, no-shows, or rescheduling less than 48 hours before the trip will result in a 100% charge. This means that if someone cancels or reschedules less than 48 hours prior to the trip start time or doesn't show up for their scheduled trip, they will be charged 100% of the payment. Groups of three or more require one week's notice for cancellations to avoid charge.

Can I get a refund on E-learning?

E-learning codes or any course that has online academics are non-refundable.

What is the Rental Agreement Policy?

Guests are responsible for returning all rental gear in the condition it was provided. This includes any and all  equipment furnished by Sail Fish Scuba. The guest assumes all risk of loss whether or not covered by their insurance coverage. The guest is responsible for picking up and returning the equipment to/from the rental facility. The Guest's responsibility shall include, but not be limited to, risks while in transit, at all locations named and unnamed and while in use by the guest.

What is the Reassignment Policy?

We may need to reassign your trip to a different dive boat due to unforeseen circumstances. While we strive to avoid these situations, we want to assure you that your safety and enjoyment are our top priorities. We will work with you to ensure your trip proceeds smoothly and safely.    No refunds are given to those who fail to review our policies in advance.

Please also visit our policies page for important information. By reserving with Sail Fish Scuba, you agree to all outlined policies.
